This kit contains the Materials, Instructions and Pattern to make a pure wool, plant dyed felt mat complete with three Earth Star fungi, some mossy tussocks and bushes.

It can be used as a small play mat and found materials from nature walks etc added to it. It could also be a beautiful piece to simply honour our incredible natural world.

You can also add the Habitat Log and Perfect Toadstool to the mat. The finished mat will measure approximately 25 x 20 cm.

If you can cut fabric neatly and sew small simple stitches by hand you will be able to make this kit.

This kit contains:

-Colour 1: Pure wool felt for the Landscape Top, naturally dyed with Goldenrod leaves and Iron water

-Colour 2: Soft pale brown natural pure wool felt for the Landscape Backing

-Colours 3: Soft pale brown natural pure wool felt for the Earth Stars

-Colour 4: Pure wool felt for the Earth Star Centres, naturally dyed with Walnut hulls

-A mix of hand spun woolen yarns and some laceweight yarn to create textured shrubs; naturally dyed with dock leaves, tansy leaves, goldenrod leaves, prunus leaves or indigo.

-2 pieces of 4ply Finn yarn for the French knots (naturally dyed using above plants)

-Pure wool stuffing for the Earth Stars

-Paper pattern

You will need:

-Paper scissors and sharp, small fabric scissors

-Sewing needle and pins

-Sewing thread and embroidery threads of your choice
